How waking works

Your Tesla wakes up by Tesla sending it a text message.

How long the vehicle takes to receive the text message and wake up depends on the individual vehicle and the local cellular reception.

Solutions

  • Pair Phone Key which will allow the vehicle to wake over Bluetooth
  • Restart the vehicle to fix any temporary issue
  • Disconnect from WiFi and let the vehicle rely on a cellular connection
  • Improve the cellular reception by parking in a different location

In rare instances, the vehicle may need a new 12V battery or connectivity board. Tesla Service can help diagnose and replace these items.
