Telemetry Methods
Tessie uses two different methods to connect to your Tesla, depending on your model, year and settings:
Polling
How it works: Tessie <> Tesla <> Your Tesla
Tessie regularly requests vehicle data from Tesla to collect analytics. Tesla attempts to contact the vehicle, retrieve the requested data and send it back to Tessie.
Direct Telemetry
How it works: Tessie <> Your Tesla
Tessie configures your vehicle to stream telemetry data directly to Tessie using an end-to-end encrypted channel.
