Create a Google Home or Assistant Routine

Google is shutting down Home & Assistant voice apps on June 13, 2023.

Check out our migration guide.

You can create Google Assistant or Google Home routines to create your own custom voice commands, like "Hey Google, get the car ready."

How to create a routine

  1. Open the Google Assistant or Google Home app and tap your account in the top right.
  2. Tap Routines > New > Personal > Add starter > Voice command.
  3. Enter any phrase you'd like, like "Get the car ready" and tap Done.
  4. Tap Add action > Try adding your own.
  5. Enter "Talk to Tessie to start climate" (or any command you want) and tap Done.
  6. Tap Save.

You're done! You can now say "Hey Google, get the car ready" (or whatever phrase you entered in step 2.)
