Phone & Watch Key Troubleshooting
If your Phone or Watch Key isn’t connecting, try this quick troubleshooting checklist:
- Toggle Bluetooth off and on to reset the connection
- Make sure you’re standing near the driver door
- Confirm Tessie is running in the background
- Check that fewer than 3 keys are connected
- In the Tesla app, ensure Settings & Security > Phone Key is enabled
- Verify that you’ve enabled the required settings for your device (see list below)
- (Android devices) Ensure only one Phone Key is active on your device
- (Apple devices) Delete the key under Settings > Bluetooth then re-pair your key

- Enable Settings > Bluetooth
- Enable Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services
- In the Tessie app, tap the location bar to enable location permissions
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Location > Always
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Bluetooth
Apple Watch
- Enable Settings > Bluetooth
- Enable Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services
- On your iPhone, in the Tessie app, tap the location bar to enable location permissions
- On your iPhone, enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Location > Always
- On your iPhone, e\nable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Bluetooth
Android
- Enable Settings > Bluetooth
- Enable Settings > Location
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Permissions > Location > Allow All the Time
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Permissions > Location > Use Precise Location
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Permissions > Nearby Devices > Allow
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > App Battery Usage > Unrestricted
- Disable Adaptive Battery
Wear OS
- Enable Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth
- Enable Settings > Location
- Enable Settings > Apps > Tessie > Permissions > Location > Allow All the Time
